Ans- Our bones are connected together to form a framework called skeleton.

Ques-2. Explain hinge joint and pivot joint.

Ans- Hinge joint -  This joint is like the hinge in a door. It allows movement of bones in one direction only.

Example- knee, elbow and fingers.


Pivot joint - This joint is found between the skull and first two vertebrae of the backbone. It allows movement of the head in the sideway, upward and downward.

Ans- In our skull, the eight flat bones interlocked together enclose and protect the delicate brain inside it. It is called brainbox.

Ans- muscles are made up of tough elastic tissues and work by pulling the bones. The muscles work in pairs to provide movement to the bones when a muscles contracts, the other one relaxs.

For example:- when you pull your lower arm up, biceps contract and triceps relax. when you straighten your arms, the triceps contract and biceps relaxs. when a muscle relaxs, it returns to its original size.
