Ques- 1.  Explain nervous system?

Ans- The network of nerve cells and fibres which transmits nerve impulses between parts of the body is called nervous system.


Ques- 2 Differentiate between sensory nerves and motor nerves.

Ans- sensory nerves- These nerves carry message from the sense organ to the spinal cord and then to the brain.

Motor nerves- Our brain controls our muscles through these nerves. they carry messages from the brain and the spinner go to the muscles or glands.


Ques-3. What is the function of skin and how can we take care of skin?

Ans- The skin is an organ of touch and feel. It has large number of nerve endings these enable us to feel. It protects us against injuries and germs. 

We can take care of skin by following some steps:-

  1. Wear clean clothes

  2. Apply antiseptic cream on cuts or scratches.

  3. Use dry and clean towel to wipe the skin.



Ques-4. How do we see an object?

Ans- The optic nerve connects the eyes to the brain. The nerve cell in retina send message to the Brain through the optic nerve. The brain reads the message and enable us to see an object.

Ans- functions of three main parts of the brain are as follow:-

  1. Cerebrum- cerebrum is the largest part of the brain. its surface has many groups and fold. it control the working of our sense organ. Thus we can think, learn, remember, feel and dream.


  1. Cerebellum- cerebellum is a small egg shaped part that lies below the cerebellum at the back of the head. it control the activity of our muscles and co-ordinate all the voluntary actions of a body like running , walking and swimming. it helps us to balance our body.

  2. Medulla oblongata- it connects the brain to the spinal cord. it controls all our involuntary action like breathing and beating of heart it is active even when we are sleep.

Ans- It is a major part of central nervous system. spinal cord is a thick bundle of nerves that connects the brain to all body parts. it starts from the back portion of the brain and continues down to the lower end of our backbone. It protects by backbone. it is responsible for the transfer of information between the brain and the rest of the body. It also control the reflex actions.
