What is an adjective?
Adjective is a word that adds something to the meaning of a noun or pronoun.
Example:-
This is a tall boy.
This is a fat boy.
This is a happy boy.
This is an angry boy.
The use of adjectives gives more information about a noun or pronoun.
• position of adjective-
an adjective is normally place before a noun but an adjective can also be placed after a noun or pronoun as shown below;
1) He is an intelligent boy
2) It is an old car
3) The boy is intelligent
4) The car is old.
In sentence 1) and 2) the adjectives intelligent and old are placed before the nouns boy and car.
In sentence 3) and 4) the adjective intelligent and all are placed after nouns boy and car

• Possessive adjective
1) adjective of quality:- the word that describes the kind or quality of a noun.
• Shyam is an honest boy
• the old man could not walk.
2) adjective of quantity:- the words that describe the quantity or how much of noun is available
• there is some coffee in the kettle.
• he has little knowledge in this subject.
3) adjectives of numbers:- the word that describes how many or in what number noun is available. it even indicates the order or position of a noun.
•there are many people standing there
• few snakes are not poisonous
4) demonstrative adjective:- the word that point out towards the particulate noun of call demonstrative adjective
• that boy won the race
• those mangoes are sweet
5) interrogative adjective:- words like what, which, and when are used to ask questions. when these words are used to ask question about the particular now they became interrogative adjectives.
•which book does she want?
• whose pen is this?
6) possessive adjective:- the words that shows position and belongings of a noun in sentences are called possessive adjectives.
• her bag is black in colour.
• what is your name?
7) distributive adjective:- words like
'each', 'every', 'either' and 'neither' are distributive adjectives their efforts to members of a group as individual.
•every man must do his duty.
• each boy must take his turn
