Ans- soil conservation- The protection of soil is called soil conservation.

Two methods of soil conservation are as follow:-

  1. Constructions of dam:- floods causes a great loss to the topmost layer of the soil. hence, dams and embankments should be built along river banks

  2. Terrace farming:- on hill slopes farming is done by cutting the slope into steps or terrace. this reduces slopes length and reduce energy of water. Also, roots hold the top soil thus reducing erosion.

  2. Subsoil-.  it is just below the topsoil and it is rich in minerals and also contains the parent materials from which the soil is developed.

  3. Bedrock-.  It is a non- porous layer of soil and It is just below the subsoil.
